Why TNR?
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the most effective and humane way to manage community cat populations. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returned to the outdoor area they already call home.

Without TNR, community cats continue to reproduce, leading to larger colonies, more homeless kittens, and increased suffering. By preventing future litters, TNR helps stabilize cat populations, improves the health of individual cats, and reduces nuisance behaviors such as fighting, spraying, and yowling.

At Rescue Paws, we believe lasting change comes from prevention. Every cat we spay or neuter helps reduce future homelessness while giving that cat the opportunity to live a healthier life in its familiar environment. It's a compassionate, proven solution that benefits both cats and the communities they live in.

Rescue Paws was never intended to become an organization. It began as four volunteers responding to an emergency when a local resident passed away and more than twenty cats, most of them indoor pets, were suddenly abandoned outside in the middle of winter. Walking away simply was not an option. We trapped the cats, secured veterinary care, and did everything possible to give them another chance.

That experience revealed something much larger than a single emergency. We discovered dozens of unmanaged cat colonies throughout our community, many created during years when affordable spay and neuter services simply were not available.

Rescue Paws exists to reach the cats that otherwise would never make it to a veterinary clinic. We identify colonies, humanely trap cats, transport them for veterinary care, provide temporary support when needed, and return healthy feral cats to managed colonies while seeking homes for friendly, adoptable cats.

Everything we do is powered entirely by volunteers. Every dollar donated goes directly toward helping cats through spay/neuter, vaccinations, and basic preventive care.
